This means that sheet music on the key of C would sound like E-flat on alto sax. Answered by Harmon Bergnaum on Sun, 5:37 AM This note is a concert Eb, which is C on alto and F on tenor. To go from Eb alto saxophone to Bb tenor saxophone, you go up a perfect fourth (or down a perfect fifth) C on alto sax down a fifth gets you to F on tenor sax. This note is a concert Bb, a concert Bb is C on tenor and G on alto. Answered by Irma Stokes on Sun, 1:28 AMĬ on tenor sax up a fifth makes it a G on alto sax. If you’re just solo playing, there shouldn’t be a problem Edit: if you want it to sound like the alto sax parts, I believe the notes need to be transposed up a few steps, and the key change should also be relative to it as well. It’ll sound transposed, but you wouldn’t be able to duet with a tenor properly is the only issue.
